WCMX World Championship 2025 in Switzerland
WCMX World Championship 2025 in Switzerland – a strong statement for inclusion and community
From September 12 to 13, 2025, the WCMX World Championship took place in Bulle, Switzerland. The event was hosted at the Stones Family Skatepark, where, alongside the WCMX Worlds, contests in Skateboard, Scooter, BMX, and Inline were also held. This made the event a fantastic and inclusive meeting point for various wheeled sports communities.
The World Championship was organized by WCMX Switzerland, in cooperation with World WCMX, the Stones Family Skatepark team, and numerous sponsors who made this event possible.
Women’s Division Results
The women’s field was larger than it had been in years – thanks in part to our successful fundraising campaign “For Lorraine: Women to the WCMX Worlds!”
🏆 Bee Wardman (United Kingdom) – new World Champion
🥈 Cécile Lecomte (Germany) – at her very first World Championship
🥉 Ilaria Naef (Italy)
4. Pauline Bendt (Germany)
5. Aal Bittner (Germany)
6. Kathrin Denecke (Germany)
Except for the new World Champion, all competitors in the women’s division were supported through our fundraising campaign – a powerful sign of inclusion and solidarity!
Men’s Division Results
The men’s category delivered exciting runs, impressive tricks, and close results.
Once again, Tomas Woods from the United Kingdom defended his title, securing his position at the top of the international WCMX scene.
🥇 Tomas Woods (United Kingdom)
🥈 Felipe Souza (Brazil)
🥉 David Lebuser (Germany) – the “eternal third” 😉
4. Emiglio Pargätzi (Switzerland)
5. Max Dorka (Germany) – only 16 years old, at his first World Championship!
6. Alex Verdoux (France)
7. Amos Donath (Germany)
8. Tony Thogmartin (USA)
9. Nemanja Radicevic (Serbia)
10. Marcel Hoffmann (Germany)
11. Thorsten Schneider (Switzerland)
It was especially exciting to see four German riders in the top 10 – including two young talents from our own SIT’N’SKATE community.
A real highlight was the performance of Max Dorka, who, after winning the German Championships earlier this year, proved his skills internationally as well.
A critical look at the competition system
Despite all the excitement, one issue remains worth addressing:
In the current WCMX system, non-binary riders still have no official category in which they can compete.
We hope this will change in the future so that everyone who loves this sport can participate on equal terms.
Looking ahead
Unfortunately, there is currently no WCMX World Championship planned for 2026.
So far, no organization has stepped up to host the next edition. This means that – apart from the pandemic years – 2026 could be the first time in over a decade without a World Championship.
We sincerely hope that a new host will be found soon, because this year’s event once again showed how important connection, motivation, and visibility are within the wheelchair skating community.
🖤 WCMX unites – in the skatepark, in the community, and around the world.
