Fundraising campaign a full success!

For Lorraine: Women to the WCMX Worlds – Fundraising campaign a full success!

In the summer of 2025, we launched a special fundraising campaign: under the motto “For Lorraine: Women to the WCMX Worlds!” we wanted to enable female wheelchair athletes to take part in the WCMX World Championship in Switzerland – in memory of the world champion Lorraine Truong, who passed away far too soon.

In recent years, Lorraine had been instrumental in ensuring that women in WCMX gained more visibility and fairer conditions. She was one of the driving forces behind the idea of bringing the 2025 World Championship to her home country, Switzerland. Sadly, she was no longer able to experience her “home worlds,” which took place on September 12 and 13 in Bulle. That made it even more important for us to carry on her legacy.

Thanks to your support, we succeeded:

2,800 euros were raised – enabling us to support five female riders on their way to the Worlds:

👉 Cécile Lecomte, Aal Bittner, Kathrin Denecke, Pauline Bendt, and Ilaria Naef (Italy).

All five were able to travel, compete, and be part of a strong field of female participants. With your help, we achieved exactly what Lorraine had always wished for: more women, more competition, more visibility.

And the results speak for themselves:

🥇 Bee Wardman (United Kingdom) – new World Champion

🥈 Cécile Lecomte – at her very first World Championship

🥉 Ilaria Naef (Italy)

4. Pauline Bendt

5. Aal Bittner

6. Kathrin Denecke

Except for the new World Champion, all competitors in the women’s category were supported through our fundraising campaign!

We are beyond happy about this success and deeply grateful for every single donation, every shared link, and every bit of support that made this project possible. 💛

Even though the weather didn’t cooperate on the final day and the award ceremony had to take place spontaneously under a pavilion in the pouring rain, the atmosphere was fantastic. For us, this World Championship was a powerful reminder of how important solidarity, empowerment, and community truly are.

🖤 Thank you to everyone who helped carry on Lorraine’s legacy.

Through her dedication to WCMX and her fight for gender equality in sports, she left a lasting mark – and thanks to your support, she continued to make an impact at her home Worlds.

For Lorraine. For the next generation. For more women in the skatepark.
