WCMX World Championship 2025 in Switzerland \u2013 a strong statement for inclusion and community<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From September 12 to 13, 2025<\/strong>, the WCMX World Championship<\/strong> took place in Bulle, Switzerland<\/strong>. The event was hosted at the Stones Family Skatepark<\/strong>, where, alongside the WCMX Worlds, contests in Skateboard, Scooter, BMX, and Inline<\/strong> were also held. This made the event a fantastic and inclusive meeting point for various wheeled sports communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The World Championship was organized by WCMX Switzerland<\/strong>, in cooperation with World WCMX<\/strong>, the Stones Family Skatepark team<\/strong>, and numerous sponsors who made this event possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women\u2019s Division Results<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The women\u2019s field was larger than it had been in years \u2013 thanks in part to our successful fundraising campaign \u201cFor Lorraine: Women to the WCMX Worlds!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Except for the new World Champion, all competitors in the women\u2019s division were supported through our fundraising campaign<\/strong> \u2013 a powerful sign of inclusion and solidarity!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Men\u2019s Division Results<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The men\u2019s category delivered exciting runs, impressive tricks, and close results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once again, Tomas Woods<\/strong> from the United Kingdom defended his title, securing his position at the top of the international WCMX scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was especially exciting to see four German riders<\/strong> in the top 10 \u2013 including two young talents from our own SIT\u2019N\u2019SKATE<\/strong> community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A real highlight was the performance of Max Dorka<\/strong>, who, after winning the German Championships earlier this year, proved his skills internationally as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A critical look at the competition system<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Despite all the excitement, one issue remains worth addressing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the current WCMX system, non-binary riders still have no official category<\/strong> in which they can compete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope this will change in the future so that everyone who loves this sport can participate on equal terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, there is currently no WCMX World Championship planned for 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, no organization has stepped up to host the next edition. This means that \u2013 apart from the pandemic years \u2013 2026 could be the first time in over a decade<\/strong> without a World Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We sincerely hope that a new host will be found soon, because this year\u2019s event once again showed how important connection, motivation, and visibility are within the wheelchair skating community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
